The second of my Edinburgh Fringe Festival previews is the play Heaven.
Heaven is written by Eugene O’Brien and directed by Jim Culleton.
Set in Ireland it stars Andrew Bennett and Janet Moran.
The story is told from the perspective of Mal and Mairead, a middle aged couple trying to hold their marriage together in the face of problems.
They attend Mairead's sister's wedding together thinking that it will help them.
Instead it unlocks secrets from their past that threaten to change everything in their lives.
Heaven runs from the 3rd-27th of August at the Traverse Theatre.
As a footnote to this. I must mention the set design of Zia Bergin-Holly for Heaven.
It is relatively simple as a sort of lonely street corner. It is incredibly atmoshperic and effective and draws you into the world that the play takes place in.
